nanoFlash and the JVC GY-HD101
by John Chambers on Jun 23, 2008 at 7:06:34 pm

Hello Guys,

I presently own the JVC GY-HD101 (HD100 w/ firmware upgrade). After reading about your non-proprietary method of recording HD to CompactFlash cards, I was immediately excited.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but my the HD100 only two options for non-tape HD recording: 1.) to come out of the camera body via Firewire, or 2.) by the analog Component HD (rg&b RCA jacks) on the side.

Is there a one piece solution for me? Or, should I get an Analog > HD-SDI converter (such as BlackMagic's $495 box - [ http://www.blackmagic-design.com/products/miniconverters/ ]) and use it to convert the Component signal into one which the nanoFlash can accept (HD-SDI)?

Also, is there a plate or mounting bracket that can allow the nanoFlash to sit atop my camcorder?

Perhaps you've already answered these questions within prior threads, but now that BlackMagic Designs has just released their collection of mini converters, perhaps your recommendations have changed.

Thanks in advance.

John Chambers
