hmm... you are investing in "relic" technology, you don't want Indiana Jones to be your reseller :)
but seriously, 2gig is super slow compared to what is out there, and compared to what will be out there in short order, although you might get a killer deal on used switches, just not so sure how they hold up over time (light will degrade on those things)
Technically I have always been able to link my switches together by plugging a fibre cable between them and making the two ports "E" ports. However, I have not done this on the older 10 port switches. You should call Qlogic and ask them.
Any RAID you purchase next will be 4gig, your servers will be super fast and also 4gig, but you will be placing older 2gig in between all of that... I would definitely get a good budget in mind and see if you can piece together a complete 4gig based solution and speed up your world, not to mention make it redundant and more reliable.
