Intel Xserve and Xsan
by ChrisWood on Feb 9, 2007 at 8:29:42 pm

Hi

Our current setup is 2-MDC Xserve G5's running 10.4.7 and Xsan 1.4, 1-ODM G5 Tower running 10.4.7 and Xsan 1.4

We now have an Intel Xserve to replace the G5 tower. I was told that to ensure full stability of the Xsan environment that all servers and clients had to run the same OS and Xsan versions.

Here is the problem.....the Intel Xserve will not run 10.4.7 only 10.4.8 which would require Xsan 1.4.1. This would now mean all clients and servers would have to be upgraded across the board as well.

Is this true? What are my options?

Thanks for the help

Chris
