I created a scene in 3ds max (some plates and a fork) fractured and simulated it with Rayfire. after the simulation was done i exported the scene as an FBX so i could open it in Rayfire. i got an error message saying the following:

The plug-in does not retain the orientation of Diagonals on Editable Poly objects. This could have an impact on modified UV coordinates. Refer to the Online Help for more information. The following objects are affected: (every fractured piece in the scene)

i tried to convert it to an editable mesh instead of an editable poly before exporting which eliminated the error but now when i import the .FBX file into cinema 4d i have strange shadows on my objects. below is an example of what is happening between 3ds and cinema 4d:
