3d Football Model

Hi All, i am currently tying to modela football. As simple as it sounds it isnt the standard 32 panel football of which there are loads of tutorials on how to creat these accross the web. My issue is a 18 panel football (please follow the link below to see the final target.)

I have a flat template outlining all the panels which im goin to use to then map the football but im struggling to create the football in the first place.
Any help would be brilliant!
