Autodesk 3ds Max 2010 Release?

I am a student looking to pick up Autodesk 3ds Max, however when I went to order on Studica.ca, it says I can pre-order Autodesk 3ds Max 2010 (http://www.studica.com/products/product_detail.cfm?productid=59455). Anyone know when this will be released and/or if Autodesk will upgrade me for free if I order the 2009 version today? I just don't want to order the 2009 version and have the 2010 version shipping next week.
