Wrong video format in FS?
by Dave Haldiman on May 28, 2008 at 3:27:01 am

I'm in a bind here. I've been shooting with an HPX500 onto 16gb P2 cards, going to FCP 6.0, and all has worked well. Tomorrow morning I've got a shoot that's going to need more storage than the four cards can provide, and I won't be able to down-load during the shoot.

Today I've been testing my new FS 160 gig drive. The camera's set at 720p30p (the format on which I've already been shooting this project), but when I import into FCP, the clips are 720p60p. I've tried recording as P2 and as QT files, I've looked all over the FS menus, I've scoured the FS instruction booklet (does anyone else find this tome to be occasionally incomprehensible?).

I know I'm missing something, perhaps formatting the clips before importing, and if I had more time I could find it or figure it out. But for now it's late and I have to use this thing in the morning. Some help would really be appreciated. Thanks very much.
