[Clay Walker]
"However, the fan in the FS-4 is so loud that my use of it is really restricted to loud events or photography that does not involve getting near the audio source..."
Really? I can't say that I've noticed the fan...and we've done some interview work with it...
The biggest factor in efficiency for us is the transportability between computer and camera...the capture step is eliminated, and that helps us be faster in post without a doubt.
We don't do many events...once in a while we do one, but not having to change a tape every 60 minutes is very helpful as well. (We usually still run a tape just to have a backup...even with the gaps.)
