HELP !!! Umx49 knobs on garage band

Hi everyone! I really don't know much of midi controlling and i recently have been doing some things with garage band. I have a UMX49 - Behringer, and while it is not great it gets the job done. Ok, now the problem that i've got is that de UMX has 8 rotary knobs, that come with default effects. Is there any way to change this and assign them to effects parameters...For example:

- I have classic guitar for instrument (in garage band, of course) with the effect KT granulator. Can I assign the parameters of the KT Granulator directly to the knobs??? And if i can do this, can someone explain me step by step how to do this?
