One way you could do it is to have a mixer with multiple inputs to go into the mac's stereo input(or whatever recording device you are using). The other is a multi-input device like a MOTU traveler or 828. GB wil allow up to 8 tracks of input so you could even mic a pretty good sized group.

The clear advantage of doing the latter is being able to do a final mix and sweeten individual tracks/instruments. The former method allows you to get multiple sounds in but, you have to be doing a decent mix live as it is injested.
