G-Drive to G-Drive Transfer Very Slow

G-Drive to G-Drive Transfer Very Slow

I have an older G-Drive 500 mb drive.

I bought a 1TB G-drive to replace a new, but bad Freeagent Desktop.

When I attached the 1TB G-drive to the 2nd Firewire 400 port on my iMac, and dragged the 170 mb directory to the new 1TB G-drive, the transfer is Exteremely slow. It is indicating it will take 30 hours.

The 500 MB G-drive to Freeagent is 30 minutes.

Is there something I am configuring incorrectly? I love G-drives, but the slow speed is surprising.
