2TB G-RAID3 LED strobing when using iTunes
by Matt Rabin on May 22, 2009 at 6:22:04 am

has anyone else run into this?

The LED light flashes (slow strobe) when I use iTunes for music or podcast files; no strobing for movie files; my iTunes folder is on the drive---the app is on my internal HD.

This drive is neither partitioned nor part of a mirrored or striped RAID.

I can't run the disk utility while iTunes is playing a music/podcast file, but can when running a movie file.

when I stop playing a music/podcast file in iTunes, the flashing stops and the disk utility will then run. running either verify or repair disk both show the drive as functioning normally with no repairs necessary.

there's also a slight delay when I open iTunes before I can play a music/podcast file (spinning beach ball).

any idea what's up? is the answer completely obvious and I'm panicking needlessly? I'm really hoping the answer isn't send the drive in since I got it just last week.

thanks.
