Sonic and Premiere Elements 3.0 "no drive detected"
by Jim McClure on Oct 19, 2009 at 8:55:59 pm

I have a Compaq SR1936X with two DVD burners, Optiarc DVD RW AD-7190A and Philips DVD8851.
When I try to burn to a DVD with either program, I get a message that no valid DVD burners were found. These programs worked O.K. for about three years.
I can burn with AShampoo.
So I create an image from Sonic and burn with AShampoo, but I would like to fix the problem.
Each drive has four drivers
cdrom.sys
imapi.sys
redbook.sys
storprop.dll

I tried to update drivers, but it said that it could not find better drivers. I deleted the drives and reinstalled them and that didn't help.

These two programs do work on my Toshiba laptop.
The laptop has the drivers listed above and the following
asapiw2k.sys
pxhelp20.sys
tdcmdpst.sys

Thanks for the help
Jim
