dealing with 5.1

dealing with the same issues as everybody else. My 5.1 ac3 stream is converting to stereo. Would like some help finding the update to 6.1. I have tried to make my A/V the same length, and it still gives me beef! Makes me want to go back to my creator system on mac/os9. Somebody please throw me a bone. Thanks, Ikakaii
