so you know the image is good...but still having issues with the burn. I can't speak to integrity of going from DVD+R to DVD-R. I have no problems burning to DVD+R
1) you should check the disc on antother computer to make sure it's not just your setup there. I am not sure of compatability with the Ulead DVD player (as opposed to winDVD and PowerDVD and cineplayer which together are 99% of the market)
2) you should also try a burn with recordnow
