ok, so you say on startup. are you trying to open an existing project or a new one? Wondering if it is choking on your assets or the ones the application ships with.

If it is really on startup, and it is when you are clicking on the desktop icon and opening a new project, maybe something got corrupted somehow in the assets that the application ships with. In that case, search your hard drive under programs > avid > DVD by sonic > content and put all of the content in that folder into another folder called old (or whatever you want to call it). Then try to relaunch.
