Michael WestMotion 4 3D question..

Kindly folk:
I have been futzing with 3D space, but am still noobish.
I have my text and graphics made in 2D and would like a musical scale (with notes) starting at a single point in the distance and winding its way forward though the text. I have musical note fonts I'm going to use. How do I accomplish this, or, if you know of one, can you direct me to a tutorial?
