I don't have this plug-in but the Trapcode website tells you how to build this in AE. Click on this link to see it: http://www.trapcode.com/info_smoke.html

To create the "Smokescreen" so it looks like the one in the example I would use the Clouds Generator. Place the Smokescreen in front of the logo. Add the Shine or Light Rays filter. Make sure the Clouds are above the Text in the Project Pane. Change the Clouds blend mode to Stencil Luma. Duplicate the text and move it above the clouds. Disable the Light Rays filter. Add a camera and you are good to go. I'm sure there are lots of other ways to do this. This is just what was on the top of my head. I hope this helps and best of luck.
