Haven't tried it with drop zones yet, I'll give it a shot.

But, in my project, I have a still photo with some animation moving it around the screen. if I try to replace that photo by dragging one from my folder in the finder, it doesn't change the layer name in the timeline. It changes the media file in the media tab, and it changes the media name in the inspector for that layer, but it doesn' changes the name of the layer in the timeline.

I'll try trashing my preferences and trying again, but so far its not working.
