True that. Some time ago, I heard a producer reveal his secret for success: make sure that everybody on the set was smarter than he was. (On the "hire younger" part, I don't agree - that's ageist.)

On the other hand, don't discount your own common sense just because somebody else sounds smart. I once had a "whole life" insurance salesman try in vain to explain to me why his policy was so great. I really, truly wanted to believe him, but I couldn't grasp his reasoning. When it was clear that there was going to be NO SALE, he sighed, "I thought you were smarter than that." I thought, "Believe whatever helps get you through the day, buddy." (I bought term life and saved a bundle.)
