Boosting Tap Shoe Sounds
by

I'm trying to boost the sounds of tap shoes over pre-recorded jazz band music on a PA system. I tried isolating the higher freq., 2.5k and above and boosting them seperately. As the music has a high hat and rider cymbals, they get boosted too.
What I did notice in the spectral view was the distinct spike of the taps, (which by the way have a large freq. range). Any way to somehow use the spectral tools to boost the spikes? They are just barely poking above the rest of the music.
