OK so this isnt n issue per say, just a possibly debate starting musing Ive been having.
What is the point in the Sony Z cameras? I mean, I understand theyre good work horses, but take a Z7 for example:
Sure you get 'professional' features- XLR input, full manual control, and all the other meta features (various recording options, timecode options etc). BUT for the amount they sell for I argue this:
The lens for that price is AWFUL- chromatic aberration is pretty abysmal.
The recording format is horrible- 4:2:0 at a teeny bit rate.
The sensors are pretty lame by todays standards- sure there's 3, but they dont meet most channel's "HD' requirements, even if taken straight from HDV to a nanoflash for example.
For the price you can afford an EX1 or many other far better cameras.
Just saying...
:D
