I would try Sony. I contacted their Customer Service through their Pro & Business site

They can help with data retrieval as well. Did you use Sony tapes? If so, they will be interested in the problem as well.
I am assuming the problem shows up in playback on the camera display and/or an external monitor. If the playback is fine and capture is the problem, then copying is a solution. Otherwise copying would be just for backup if you have to send the tapes to Sony or a data retrieval house.
