What dimensions will the clip be resized to when uploaded to the internet?

If your clip is just going to be compressed to go online I would definitely suggest you go for the HD720p version. This will also give you a great image if you decide to burn your clip onto SD DVD at a later date. If you get spend more on the 1080p version you'll be wasting your money since you won't see the benefits of higher resolution on a highly compressed web video.

HD720p will work great for you.
