SD PAL to HDV 1080p24 takes 1100 hours?
by dan freshman on Oct 18, 2009 at 9:04:04 pm

Hello,
I'm trying to uprez a large quantity of SD pal footage to match the majority of footage I have which is HDV 1080p24. My tests have came out satisfactory using compressor and frame controls. However, I have about 33 gigs to convert and when I try to batch compress, it estimates the time needed to about 1100 hours. I am on a 2 x 2.66 dual core intel xeon w/ 5 gb of 667 ddr ram.

Does this sound right? If so, what is the best method to go forward. Just offline edit w/ the pal footage and batch compress once the sequence is complete?

thanks for any and all suggestions/help.

dan
