[stewart charles] "But I was just wondering what advantage this would have over 25p"

The advantage is, you want your acquisition format to match the viewing format of your audience. So the main question would be "Where in the world is this DVD going to be viewed."

If its primary destination is for viewing in the US or any other of the NTSC countries, then 24p would be your choice.

If its primary destination is for viewing in the UK or any other of the PAL countries, then 25p would be your choice.

If there is a chance that they want a real film print to be struck from the digital master, then 24p would be your choice.
