Marc,

The Z7U needs a CF card to record video to the attached CF recorder. The memory stick, would only be used to store camera setup profiles and to take digital stills.

For video recording you do need the CF card. As long as it is 133x or better (SONY recommends 300x) you should be fine.

I have an S270 (shoulder mount version of the Z7) and use SanDisk's Extreme III cards and have never had an issue.
