Doug,
I just tested my FX1 for you. Sorry, but you cannot get Component and either S-Video or Composite at the same time. But, you can get S-Video AND Composite at the same time. I tried all the different settings for HDV and DV, no good. As soon as you plug the cable into the Component jack, you lose S and Composite.
