Ah.

Yes, as I said in my ohter post, your camera uses Sony's Cineframe mode.

I'm not too familiar with it, so I can't say what it does, exactly. All I know is that the V1U camera replaced it with true 24p with pull-down. So whatever Cineframe is, Sony decided to drop it on their newer HDV model.

In regards to THAT, trusting the engineers might make sense. I have no experience with it so I couldn't say.
