Hey Kimberly, Congrats on the almost purchase. There's a couple of routes to go by.

1. B&H is reliable and since they're in NY you don't pay sales tax. Thats over 450 savings right there!
2. Bel Air camera in Westwood has an excellent staff that always tries to match reputable online pricing. They wont match the scam NY houses that advertise the camera at 3k.
3. Samy's camera in LA (several locations) are extremely knowledgable and have been around a long time. I think they price-match as well.
4. AudioVideo centers. They aren't cheap but have interesting 12-18 month no interest financing available. You'll pay a little more for the camera up front, but if you can pay off the loan on time you'll save in the long run.

I always recommend buying the extended Philips warranty or whatever they're offering as it's paid for itself many times over on my Z1U, A1U and VX1000.

Call Morris and George Meyer TV Repair for any repairs, cleanings etc. They are Sony authorized and do most warranty work. They're in Santa Monica.

There are many online advertisers that will try and hook you in to a low priced add. Most of them are located in NY and NJ. They'll take your order, call you back the next day and try and sell you a ton of overpriced extras. When you refuse, they tell you there's a high demand for that camera and they're back ordered for 6 weeks. When you cancel your order they charge you at 10 -30% "restocking" fee for an item they never had! BEWARE!

And finally...

If you or friends ever get in trouble up there in SC call Scott at Aardwolf Bailbonds and tell him Chris & Renee sent you. He'll help you out.

Best of Luck with your new purchase!

Kind Regards,
Chris K.
