Question for Douglas

Hey Douglas, you said above, "At 15Mbps and higher, AVCHD is quite impressive, but then again, I'm more about what the tools are, and not what they aren't."

As I was reading the specs on the new Sony HDR-SR12, "...Sony has upped video capture to a full 1920 x 1280 at 16Mbps."

Do you think this camera http://www.camcorderinfo.com/content/Sony-HDR-SR12-First-Impressions-Camcor... would be a good option vs. the Sony HC9 (miniDV)? I'll shoot tapes if the quality is better, but man, ideally I'd like to remain with a tapeless workflow.

If, as you say, ACVHD is on it's way to be the new standard for low/mid hd production, in your opinion what are the minimum camera specs needed to make this happen? Does the HDR-SR12 fall short?
