Hey Craig,
After a little more mucking about of my own, shooting the "HDV" setting is going to be the ticket until all of the shooting is finished for these projects.
I'm feeling pretty comfortable with the camera overall, and the lens controls have reminded me of how much I loved the full manual SLR tucked away in my closet.
The picture profiles option is still beyond me as I don't really understand the options in the menu for that, so I'll need to get up to speed on that... maybe even RTFM.
