If money is no issue, give me the EX, plus some kind of RAID storage that will archive for the next ten years.

Or buy $5. tapes and 6 or 7 HV20's. The camcorder also takes stills as a a camera or can grab stills while recording. You can choose stills from 1980x1080 down to 640x480 and save them on a mini-SD card. It also has continuous shooting or high speed shooting of stills, and even auto bracketing of exposures. The built-in flash can be turned on or off.

I'd say buy this camcorder first and try it and if it suits your needs, buy yourself a motorcycle or take a vacation!
