Re: want to make the HDV transition

You cant play back HDV with that drive---Sony makes a couple of drives that will support HDV but they are in the 2-3000 range (last I looked). You can always use your camera but you know about wearing out the heads.
If you are editing HDV on that computer, you will definately need the Cineform HD Connect product----works great. I disagree with the poster who said it would be to slow----for basic editing it will be fine-----I use Vegas and I can tell you that once converted, the files edit fine and the computer is fairly responsive.
