Problem with playback of footage from Sony A1

My office has a Sony A1 that we have been using for several months in the field. We always use a deck to play back our footage and have never tried to use the camera to view footage until last week.

When we hit play on the flip out screen, the screen goes blue and the timecode won't play. I can fastforward or rewind, but the images won't play. They play fine on my deck, but I can't get the camera to play tapes.

Is there a setting that I need to put the camera in to play tapes? I have it in "Edit/Play" mode.
