I've been testing the PC HDV NLEs and found no real problems capturing 720p30. Premiere Pro with AspectHD will batch capture 720p30 even though everyone claimed the JVC camcorders didn't have TC. In other words, they didn't know how to code a working solution!

I suspect the same thing is now happening with the Sony. Blame the camcorder, GOP, or MPEG-2 when the reality is the programmer just hasn't had TIME to really figure it out. I'll bet Avid gets everything right in August. They were already supporting the HD-100 at NAB. One thing about Avid, they really understand video equipment

But, things do get weird with HDV. The Sony, upon a single-frame backspace will go back about 2 seconds.

My advice is to relax your standards and just do the simplest capture you can.
