Before I worked on the Smoke, I used to edit on an AVID. I would say the Smoke is a very capable editor. From time to time I have to make tweaks to someone elses edit, and it is pretty painless to do in the Smoke.
I haven't actually had to cut anything from start to finish in the Smoke, but I am confident that I could do it, and do it quickly.
