I'm not sure exactly the problem is but I'll take a stab at it...
I know the transparency slider doesn't seem to work the way it should using certain transfer modes with 3D objects in Action. It doesn't seem to work right in Screen, but it does work in Blend, and Simple Add.. that just off the top of my head...
Thats the best I can do without a little more specify info...
