DV / DVCAM Velocity capture problem

Hi Guys,
I'll appreciate if someone could help me.
I'm using a HP xw8000 workstation with 4Gb Ram and SCSI HDs with Velocity 8.2.
So, I'm having a problem when I capture via firewire (I have a fireware card and the xw8000 itself has a 2 firewire ports), the most part of the time the DV / DVCAM capture runs very well, but sometimes occurs some freezing and the following Error Log appears on pop-up:

"xxx live frames lost. Lost frames are generated from input flooding.
....Sync lost can result input flooding or starvation of either video or audio"

I noticed that when I reduced the capture rate this problems didn't appeared.

Is it possible to solve that?
Could someone help me with that?
