video Alpha Channel in Reality

according to the books the Reality can support video with an alpha channel. but I've been unable to get it to work.
Here's my situation:
We've been using reality for a playback server. We're upgrading to a new system. Since we don't want to waste technology. We're turning the Reality into a CG and (animated)Graphic Ovelay/DSK device.
I can create TGA graphics with an 32bit alpha channel and they work just fine.. I've got the key going out through video2 and the CG going out through Video1 and it works beautifully.
When I try to import an AVI with an alpha, Reality converts it, Shows there's something in the alpha track. And when I play it out. I can see the footage being played on both the Vid1 and Vid2. but it doesn't seem to be putting out the alpha information as they both are showing the same thing.
I'm creating my animations in After Effects saving them as an AVI with alpha and importing into Reality.
Any thoughts or suggestions?
