It's not the DVD player or the TV. The graphics were not placed within the title safe boundaries when the video was made. Google Title Safe. The only way to fix this is go back to the timeline with the original graphics and make sure they are inside the title safe boundaries. In FCP it looks like this (the title safe is the inner rectangle, the outer rectangle is called action safe):
