Screen text cut off when played on DVD player, but not a computer.

I was given 720 Mp4 footage(23.97) from a DSLR, and put the footage on a DVD via DVDSP. When I play the burnt disc on a DVD player, it cuts off the text on the sides. Here are the steps I used:

Compressor 4: Converted the footage using the MPEG-2 DVD preset. I double checked to make sure that 16:9 was the selected aspect ratio before the conversion. The resulting footage was 720x480

DVDSP: Imported the assets and made sure that EACH track was set to 16x9 letterbox (No combos with Panscan etc )

DVDSP 4: Went to preferences and checked 16:9 under SD aspect ratio. I simulated, it looked fine. Then burnt the DVD


My only guess is at this point is that it is the DVD player or the TV it's being played on. Any advice?
