Philip DaviesStruggling To Create a DVD with FCPX and DVD Studio Pro

Hi there,

I need to create a 2hr DVD (4.7MB limit) but I'm having trouble with the settings in DVD Studio Pro...

I'm exporting 4 projects from Final Cut Pro X (about 30 mins each, Pro Res 422, audio and video together). The total size in DVD Studio, with 250MB of menu items, is coming out as 8.9GB with standard settings (bit rate of 4.0mbps, max of 7.0 mbps) and is obviously way too high for a 4.7MB DVD.

I believe the audio is AIFF when exporting from Final Cut so I've tried exporting audio separately (AC3) and it reduces the overall size but not by nearly enough (by about 20%).

Using this bit rate calculator it's telling me to use an average bit rate of 4.0Mbps and a max of 9.3Mbps, which is higher than what I'm using.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Phil.
