well, the anti-alias for highlight link also goes for subs...
(my subbits render engine uses that trick, but places the anti-alias between text and outline...)
But i disagree on title safe. That is way too conservative nowadays.
Action safe is still to be trusted, and i don't like graphics exactly on the edge of the image, so my titles start half way between action and title safe.
For the 4:3 CRT interlaced sets, there is almost no 4:3 set around that cannot do a scale to 16:9 and display a letterbox. And the interlacing is a good thing, and 90% of the CRT's look better on SD material than any flatscreen i've seen...
