David BaumanDVD Replication how is it done?

I have 3 dual layered R- disks with about 6.5 GB of content on them. I used DVD Studio Pro to create the menus and burn them. The next step I assume is replication, since it's more likely a replicated DVD will play on more players than if I copy my DVD individually.

My question is, if it is possible to replicate my dvd myself. I researched this question on other sites. The companies that replicate came up, and of course they're not sharing their secrets as to how replication actually works so people like me probably can't do it themselves, which is understandable. But this is something I'll be doing in a lot in the future and wondered if anyone could tell me a bit about the actual replication process, what hardware or software is required?

Also I'm needing to make about 500 copies at least of these sets of dvds.
