olly,
to try toast would be a good to check if your burner is OK or not.

another option:
if you tried to burn a DVD with DVD SP it must be muxed first, and/or you need to choose the output-folder of the data (within format-dialogue) you would like to burn, otherwise you´re not able to select it.

it will be greyed out.
