I recently had a problem like this..
In my case though , the audio asset was REALLY muted.. !
I was authoring a movie and the first play asset was the corporation's logo with audio..
It all started with the video..
When played on a standalone player , the logo crashed after 1-2 secs from the beginning and continued playing from the 10nth second! the audio was ok..
I changed the video asset with an older one i had ripped from a commercial dvd, and the video issue was fixed , BUT the audio was "muted" !?
I don't let dvdsp to do the encoding , in fact the asset was given to me already encoded..
In the simulator was everything ok .. In Apple's dvd player ok too..
In a standalone dvd player there was no audio at all..!

I found the solution , change the audio asset with another old one that I had also ripped, and it was fixed!!
What could have happened?

**P.S .. the original video asset was an .mpv file.. the one that was crashing in the standalone player..
