Authored DVD Buttons behave differently when simulated

Hey Guys,
I'm just authoring a DVD for a client in DVD Studio Pro 4 that has 1 Play all button and 8 segment selection buttons. They all appear on a single layered menu page.
When I simulate, the buttons show their highlighted state when the cursor hovers over them, however when authored I need to click on the menu buttons in order for them be highlighted. This means I need to double click to select a menu item. I have tried this on a MAC with DVD Player and a PC running PowerDVD and have had the same result. In a DVD player it seems to work fine.
This isn't a deal breaker but the client has asked if I can rectify this problem for them.
Any help would be great!
Cheers,
Dan
