button activation delay
by Chris Gallaway on Nov 6, 2009 at 3:35:07 pm

Hi folks,
I've built a DVD with an animated main menu--the video in the menu is roughly a minute in length, and the accompanying audio track is only about twenty seconds in length. My design was to have the menu play through upon opening and then loop back to a point after the end of the audio so that the audio only plays once.
Everything is working fine, except that when the menu plays, all of my button states do not appear until after the audio has finished playing. I've constructed my buttons using an overlay with various highlight states, but these states do not appear while the audio is on (the buttons are still clickable, but their highlights do not show). This perplexes me; because I've made other menus in the past with both audio and video and had no trouble with this. Could the problem be that my audio and video tracks are of un-equal length? Any other ideas?
Thanks much for the help, all. I appreciate it.
