Apples and apples, or apples and oranges?
Are you going to Compressor via the time-line? This workflow will take longer than a self-contained QT movie, but has advantages.
But having said that, even with a self-contained movie Compressor offers more control over the m2v settings. DVDSP uses part of Compressor's encoding engine, but allows less tweeking, and IMHO is less professional.
